Vanlove Fest 2024 kicked off in grand style, welcoming campervan and motorhome enthusiasts from across the UK. This year’s festival, which spanned from Thursday evening for early arrivals through to the grand finale on Sunday, was a testament to the vibrant and inclusive spirit of the campervan community.
Early arrivals were allowed to set up on Thursday evening. A large number of campervans and motorhomes arrived early and were greeted by a welcoming tent featuring music, lights, a few benches, and a bar serving local beer.
By Friday at 11 am, the festival was in full swing as all the vans moved to the main airfield. At a designated photo stop, the organisers captured high-resolution photos of attendees’ vehicles, which were available for purchase on the Vanlove Fest website for just £2.50. The organisation was impeccable, with ample staff on hand to direct the campervans and motorhomes to their respective zones.
The airfield was meticulously divided into various sections, including the main event arena, premium runway camping, a family camping zone, and more. There was plenty of space to accommodate motorhomes and campervans of all sizes. The facilities were well-maintained, with plenty of toilets, bins, and even an elsan point for waste disposal.
Festival-goers were treated to an array of delicious food options, from pizzas and burgers to wraps.
The drinks, provided by the local Yorkshire Pudding Brewery, were reasonably priced at £4 per pint.
The festival’s emphasis on quality and community was evident, with only a few stands focusing on essentials rather than commercial excess
The Village of Love & Wellness offered a range of activities including tattoos, yoga, drum workshops, face painting, a climbing wall, and paintball. Friday night featured a stellar performance by Ellie Sax, who played 'Ibiza Vanthems,' followed by DJ Kristian Nairn, famously known as Hodor from Game of Thrones. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
Saturday's lineup included informative talks by Michael Copeland, the Fridge Man, and the True Blue Travellers, along with a comedy show. The evening saw the crowd donning movie hero costumes, with standout outfits like Ken and Barbie.
Kevin and Perry kept the audience entertained, and DJ Kristian Nairn wrapped up the night's festivities with another fantastic set.
The festival concluded on Sunday with the famous Survivors Convoy. This spectacular event saw all the vans and motorhomes leaving the airfield together, creating a memorable end to an incredible festival.
Vanlove Fest 2024 was a resounding success, focusing on fun, community, and the love of campervanning rather than commercialisation.
It proved to be an excellent event for both first-timers and seasoned campervan and motorhome owners, as well as families.
We eagerly await Vanlove Fest 2025!
