New Adria Twin Supreme 640SGX Model 2025

UPDATED (17th of October 2024): It's been an interesting couple of months following the new Adria Twin around Europe's biggest shows. First glimpse was at Düsseldorf's Caravan Salon back in August, then another good look at Birmingham's National Show in October. You know what's really interesting? Seeing how different the van looks under different show lighting - but more on that later.

Right, let's talk about what hits you first - that front end. The 2025 Adria Twin keeps the Fiat Ducato base (no surprises there), but they've totally changed the face. The black wheel arches are gone, replaced with this new grille design that's... let's say "causing discussions" among Twin fans at the shows. Overheard one visitor at Birmingham saying it looks more car-like now. Not sure if he meant it as a compliment.

Exterior & Driver’s Cabin

First Impressions Right, let's talk about what hits you first - that front end. The 2025 Adria Twin keeps the Fiat Ducato base (no surprises there), but they've totally changed the face. The black wheel arches are gone, replaced with this new grille design that's... let's say "causing discussions" among Twin fans at the shows.

The Driver's Space Jump into the driver's seat and - wow - digital everything. The old analog dials are history, replaced by this massive screen that looks proper fancy. But here's something worth thinking about: under those bright show lights, the screen was catching a fair bit of glare. Made me wonder how it'd handle bright summer days on the road.

Lounge Area

Now this is where it gets interesting. The table setup is actually quite clever. The main one disappears into the floor (neat trick), and there's this smaller table you can move between the lounge and bedroom. Perfect for those who can't face walking three steps to the main table first thing in the morning (no judgment here, we've all been there).

BUT - and it's a big but - what's going on with those USB ports? Two. Just two. One USB-C, one USB-A, tucked under the table. In 2025! I mean, sure, it looks clean, but has anyone at Adria tried charging a phone, tablet, and laptop while running a fan on a summer night? Because that's van life reality right there.

Kitchen Area

Full disclosure: I was really hoping for some big changes in the kitchen. Spoiler alert - they're not there. Same gas hob position that's had Twin owners grumbling for years. Same tap placement that makes you think twice about filling big pots. The cupboards are apparently 25% bigger now and made of some fancy lightweight material, which is nice, but more counter space would've been nicer.

The storage is pretty smart though - three big cupboards that look like they could swallow a decent amount of supplies. But again, counter space is what we're all crying out for. One visitor at Birmingham had his old Twin's kitchen layout on his phone, comparing the two side by side. Couldn't spot much difference, if I'm honest.

Sleeping Area

The bedroom in the 640SGX shows some actual progress. Remember that annoying split mattress that seemed to develop a mind of its own? Gone. The new foldable design makes way more sense. They've added this clever little table attachment too - perfect for that morning coffee you made at the new mobile table (see what they did there?).

The under-bed storage looks easier to get to, and feels bigger somehow. Though show models with empty storage always look massive - ask me again when it's full of chairs, cables, and that weird camping gadget you bought and never used.

Additional Bed is inflatable

Here's something different - they've gone inflatable with the extra bed. No more midnight puzzle-solving trying to assemble the lounge bed. Though I'm curious about durability.

Bathroom

Small changes here, but good ones. Extra shelves (always welcome), two towel hangers (revolutionary, I know), and better storage solutions overall. It's not exactly a spa makeover, but honestly, in a van this size, every little improvement helps.

Additional Features and Observations

One of the more convenient changes is the relocation of the electric bed switch, now placed between the upper cupboard and the sink. This new position is much easier to access. Additionally, two hangers have been added above the sink, providing extra convenience.

From our conversation with Adria staff, it was confirmed that Adria is sticking to their white/grey indoor color options.

Grey Waste release

Right, let's talk about something really exciting. No, seriously - stick with me here. The grey waste valve has gone electronic! I know, I know - only van people get excited about waste systems. But if you've ever fought with the old mechanical valve in previous Twins, you'll understand. This is properly good news. No more acrobatics trying to empty the tank.

Verdict

Here's the thing about the 2025 Twin Supreme - it feels like Adria's been listening to feedback, sort of. They've fixed some proper annoyances (that waste valve deserves another mention), added some clever touches (that disappearing table is growing on me), but then seemingly ignored other obvious things (kitchen space, anyone?).

If you're coming from an older Twin model, the digital dash and electronic waste system might be enough to tempt you. The better bed setup and smarter storage are nice bonuses. But if you're new to van life and comparing different brands, especially if you're big on cooking, you might want to look at what Swift Carrera or Malibu are offering too. Their kitchen layouts at both shows were pretty impressive.

The Details You Might Miss

  • They're sticking with white/grey interiors (bit safe, but it works)
  • New hangers above the sink (small thing, big difference)
  • Electric bed switch has moved (much better spot now)
  • The bathroom shelf additions actually make a difference
  • That inflatable bed really changes the game for occasional guests
  • Lounge table is noticeably thinner than before

Final Thoughts

Look, the new Adria Twin Supreme isn't revolutionary. It's more like they've gone around the van with a checklist of common complaints and fixed quite a few of them. Some changes are brilliant (I promise I'll shut up about the waste valve now), others feel like missed opportunities.

Would love to hear from anyone who saw it at either show. What stood out to you? And current Twin owners - what do you think about these changes? Worth the upgrade or sticking with what you've got?
