If you’re passionate about motorhomes, campervans, and all things outdoors, the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf is a must-visit event. We attended this year’s show to get a first look at the latest trends, models, and gear set to arrive in the UK. From the newest Adria Twin to cutting-edge releases from Ford, VW, and more, this year’s show was filled with excitement and innovation.
Running from 30th August to 8th September 2024, the event spanned 17 halls at the massive Messe Düsseldorf exhibition centre. Attendees explored dedicated areas for Motorhomes & Caravans, Campervans, Equipment & Outdoor, Travel & Nature, Premium motorhomes (including luxury buses worth £1.8 million), and Technology & Components. The weather cooperated nicely at the start, creating a pleasant atmosphere for this huge gathering.
The Caravan Salon took place at Messe Düsseldorf, ideally located outside the low-emission zone and just a short distance from Düsseldorf Airport. If you were well-prepared, you could pre-book a pitch at the official campsite near the venue. For last-minute visitors, temporary overnight parking areas were available, transformed into mini-campsites to accommodate those arriving in their campervans or motorhomes.
This year’s show featured all the major European manufacturers, each presenting their latest models and innovations. Some of the key highlights included:
In addition to the exciting vehicle debuts, this year’s Caravan Salon had another highlight – meeting some of the UK’s most popular YouTubers in the caravan and motorhome scene. We were thrilled to catch up with Karina and Jules from Here We Tow, who were exploring the show, as well as Andrew Ditton, another well-known face in the community.
As a special treat, we even managed to meet Steve and Lynsey from Roaming Radfords, who were stopping by the show on their way back from an epic adventure through Turkey. It’s always great to see familiar faces and chat with fellow enthusiasts, sharing experiences and ideas about the latest trends in the world of motorhomes and campervans.
No large event is complete without a great selection of food and drink, and Caravan Salon was no exception. The centre of Messe Düsseldorf was filled with stalls offering tasty street food and, of course, local German beer – ideal for recharging after hours of exploring the latest vehicles.
For families, there were plenty of activities to keep children entertained. The event offered a variety of attractions for kids, including trampolines, climbing walls, bouncy castles, and more, ensuring that younger visitors had just as much fun as the adults.
Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2024 delivered once again, offering a fantastic array of new motorhomes, campervans, and equipment, alongside a chance to meet some well-known UK YouTubers. With so many exciting new models on display, UK buyers have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
If you missed this year’s show, be sure to pencil in the dates for 2025 – it’s a must-visit event for anyone in the world of caravanning!
