Vanlove Fest 2024 review

Thursday - early arrivals

Early arrivals were allowed to set up on Thursday evening. A large number of campervans and motorhomes arrived early and were greeted by a welcoming tent featuring music, lights, a few benches, and a bar serving local beer.

Friday

By Friday at 11 am, the festival was in full swing as all the vans moved to the main airfield. At a designated photo stop, the organisers captured high-resolution photos of attendees’ vehicles, which were available for purchase on the Vanlove Fest website for just £2.50. The organisation was impeccable, with ample staff on hand to direct the campervans and motorhomes to their respective zones.

The airfield was meticulously divided into various sections, including the main event arena, premium runway camping, a family camping zone, and more. There was plenty of space to accommodate motorhomes and campervans of all sizes. The facilities were well-maintained, with plenty of toilets, bins, and even an elsan point for waste disposal.

Food and Drink

Festival-goers were treated to an array of delicious food options, from pizzas and burgers to wraps.
The drinks, provided by the local Yorkshire Pudding Brewery, were reasonably priced at £4 per pint.
The festival’s emphasis on quality and community was evident, with only a few stands focusing on essentials rather than commercial excess

Activities and Entertainment

The Village of Love & Wellness offered a range of activities including tattoos, yoga, drum workshops, face painting, a climbing wall, and paintball. Friday night featured a stellar performance by Ellie Sax, who played 'Ibiza Vanthems,' followed by DJ Kristian Nairn, famously known as Hodor from Game of Thrones. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
